Way & Wy-ism's

Some of the things I post on here that the boys say may or may not interest anyone that may be reading this blog. However, hearing the cute little things they come up with warms my heart, and I don't want to forget. So, since I'm horrible at remembering to write these things down, at times, this blog will be used for my own benefit to remember these moments. Here are a few from the past couple of days.

Waylon has been learning in school how to spell and to recognize his name on sight. One day a couple of weeks ago, he saw his name written on something and pointed to every letter and spelled it out. Then, even bigger surprise, he spelled his name out loud without looking at the letters. I was so ecstatic that I had to call Nana & Aunt Tania to let them hear, & I wouldn't even let Jesse get in the shower when he got home until Waylon showed him what he had learned. Seriously, I don't think I've been so excited over something in a long time!! So the other morning, I told Waylon to go get his pants and get dressed for school. He brings me a pair of jeans and says, "These mine Mommy. These got my name on them."

Maybe that's the reason he'll ONLY wear Wrangler jeans. No other pants have his name on them. So they must not be his.

Wyatt came to me last night saying, "Help! Help Mommy!" I went to where he was playing and the caboose had come unhitched from his train. He said, "Mommy, please fix Thomas Train's mommy." What?!?

I'm guessing because his wooden train is so much bigger than Thomas???

On another train note, the boys have these Thomas's that they fight over ALL THE TIME!! Everybody wants Thomas. I'm not sure why, we don't even watch Thomas, but still as yet, they're obsessed. Nana bought another Thomas and gave to Wyatt this morning along with some extra trailers so that maybe the Thomas dispute could be laid to rest. Wyatt has been going around all morning with those 2 Thomas's saying, "Way Way will be here soon. My broter will be so happy!!" I think he must realize that with 2 Thomas's, life will be better, and he's looking forward to it!
This morning Wyatt came in my room, climbed on my bed, laid on top of me & gave me a huge hug and said, "I love you ever day Mommy." So I said, "I love you everyday too Wyatt. You're my favorite Wyatt." To which he responded, "You're my favorite Way Way too Mommy." I'm not sure where that came from, but I'm hoping it was a huge compliment from his 2 year old perspective!

Waylon, on the other hand, is not such a cheerful riser. He laid all snuggled in his bed this morning, not wanting to get up, and barking orders to Wyatt. It went something like this:

Way: No Wyatt!! You don't turn on that light!

Wy: Don't tell me no Way Way! You not boss! Mommy and Daddy boss!!

Oh goodness, wonder where they've heard that before...

Wyatt loves this new show on Disney called "Chuggington." It's about...you guessed it....trains! It will be over & Wyatt will say, "Oh no! I dust want to watch Chuggiton all day yong!!" He gets very "upset," and I always try to make a big deal about his fake upset so he'll get over it. I tell him to show me his sad face and this is what he does:

They are definitely my most favorite little men in the world, and, in the words of Wyatt, I love them "ever day."

Party Time

Yesterday we went to a birthday party for the boys' friend "T" from church. The boys had a great time! There was a bouncy house and numerous ride on yard toys for the kids to play on/in. They had such a good time that when it was time to leave, Waylon said, "I don't want go home! I need to go to T's party!!!" And even this morning, they both woke up talking about T's birthday. This will be the norm until the next party. We've been talking about C's party (a little girl in Way's class) since November. Yeah, my kids take an event and hang on to it for a while!! Here are the pictures from yesterday. I've included links from some of the kids to their mommie's blogs.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

This past Friday, Waylon had his V-Day party at school. Wyatt and I also went, and we all had a good time. I won't be very wordy with this post, but here are some pictures of the event. Enjoy!!

Little Boy Blue

The things that come out of my kid's mouth. Wait, let me rephrase that. The words that come out of my kid's mouth!! (Since they've been sick, I didn't want anyone to think that I was speaking of vomit.)

Tonight we were talking to Waylon and practicing nursery rhymes that they've been learning at school. We did "Hey Diddle Diddle," then he sang "Hokey Pokey" for us. I had thought they were learning "Little Boy Blue" and so I started it out for him. It went like this: "Little Boy Blue...." To which he replied,"Come blow you nose!"

Cute. I love that boy.

I Know I'm Loved

We, as mommies do so much for our babies. We give them a cozy womb for 9 months. We sacrifice many full nights sleep to make sure their tummies are full and their diapers are clean. We kiss boo-boos. We wipe tears. We clean their snotty noses, stinky bottoms, and pukey messes even when it makes us gag. We make sure they are clean, healthy and happy. We take them to the doctor when they are sick and nurse them back to health with lots of love and TLC. Tell me why it is, after all that we do, that our sweet, precious children pay us back for all of our hard work and love by so freely giving us their germs. Thanks boys. Mommy loves you too.

Things are Looking Better

Don't they look like they're feeling much better?!? Well, except the look on Wyatt's face, but I promise seconds before he was laughing and playing! And, I mean, if they have the energy to completely dump everything out of a basket and squish themselves into it, they must be feeling better, right? Just sayin.

As previously posted, we all know that the Rodgers boys have not been well. I took Wyatt to the doctor on Monday, and I swear, I have never seen him feel this bad. He was really pitiful, to the tune of not even wanting to get off my lap to play with the train table in the waiting room. (Which, I admit, is a little gross...as my buddy Carrie said, that's probably where they pick up half their germs. But it was comforting to walk in to the office and be nasally accosted with the strong scent of Lysol.) Turns out that Wyatt had the beginnings of an ear infection and *gasp*.....the FLU!!! :P (That's me sticking my tongue out and saying "yuck"). This trip won us a round of antibiotics and Tamiflu.

Waylon, on the other hand, had felt bad over the weekend, but by Sunday was acting much better and was without fever. Dang it if he didn't come home from school on Monday coughing like crazy and with a temp of 101.7. Nice. Off we went to the doctor again on Tuesday morning, ending up with a diagnosis of bronchitis and a round of antibiotics, steroids and a new allergy medicine.

Hi, my name is Crystal, my kids are on drugs and I'm OK with that.

And the Weekend Rolls On....

Is this not the SECOND most pitiful thing ever....

Keep praying girls...
