Happy Homecoming

Does anyone else remember & love the days of THS Homecoming? I know I sure do, and one of my favorite things was finding out what the theme of each day of Homecoming week would be so I would know what kind of silly outfit I'd go to school in. Imagine my delight as I got a note home from Waylon's school about Homecoming week!!! I couldn't wait to get him dressed in theme & show some Tiger pride! Oh yeah, only one problem. I have a 3 year old who has about the pickiest taste in everything; clothes, food, pillowcase (no, I'm not kidding, he only wants his Cars pillowcase, and only likes to sleep on it Lightning McQueen side up; I could do a whole other post on his pickiness, but I digress), you name it, he's probably picky about it. So, we did the best we could and here's what we came up with!

Monday was Wacky Tacky Day

Tuesday was Splash TES with Red Day (In honor of Red Ribbon Week)

Wednesday was Blast From the Past Day (we were going for the 50's!)

Thursday was Favorite Character Pajama Day

Friday was Orange & Black Day

Here are a few pictures of Waylon's class getting ready for the Literary Parade, having their class party, waiting for the Homecoming Parade to start, & a couple just around the class.

MPBC Fall Festival

Yesterday was the Fall Festival at MPBC. I left the boys and went a little early to catch the concert and have time to decorate my trunk in peace for Trunk-or-Treat. Apparently, if you are there childless & free, you get a job. My post was manning the Sack Race. Only problem, as I sat there munching on nachos & cheese, was that everyone had sacked themselves out before I got there with the previous post-manner, so NOBODY was sack racing. I jokingly said to Kimberly as she walked by, "Hey, you wanna race me?," not thinking she'd agree....so we raced. 2 little girls decided to join us; the girls crossed the finish line as Kimberly and I were still rounding the corner, trying desperately not to fall on our faces, and/or pee our pants. Fortunately for all you who may stumble across this blog, I did NOT get any pictures of the (almost painful to watch) event, you can conjure up your own mental image if you dare, but here's a pic of the sign! By the way, our little stunt did inspire lots of the kids to come over & race, so it helped with publicity!

Mom came out a little later as the festival part was winding down. She brought the boys, Waylon ran around like a crazy man & Wyatt did try a couple of games. He liked the bean bag toss, or in his case, the "walk right up to the hole, stick the bean bag through and look expectantly at the girl running the booth for a prize" game. He also liked the fishing booth and was quite upset when he went back to it after it had closed down and no matter how many times he threw his line over, he couldn't catch a prize!

Trunk-or Treat was fun, I wish I'd gotten more pictures of everyone's trunks; but all I got were mine & Davina's.

Wyatt sat in the trunk with me handing out candy to the kids. Waylon just sat in my front seat playing with my lights and wipers. When most of the kids were done, sweet Kimberly took Wyatt around with his bucket and showed him what it was all about since I wasn't able to walk him. It didn't take him long to figure out that walk around holding out a bucket and smiling real sweet = CANDY!!!! Waylon, not so much. He just ran around with my iPod singing "Big Green Tractor." He didn't care about that candy one bit. And still, as the buckets sit with all that candy, Wyatt is quick to inform that it is his "pupin" and his "tanny." Waylon lets me dig through his pumpkin all I want & take whatever I want (maybe my behind wishes he were a little more protective over that candy).

Wyatt was eating the loot as he collected!

Wyatt, Charlee & Waylon sampling the goods

We had a great time, although not so sure if it was such a good idea to take borderline sick Wyatt out in the evening air...now we have a sick boy, but he's still enjoying his "tanny!"

I Need Therapy....of the Retail Kind

Since my last post, we have had a couple of exciting weekends. Last weekend (the 26th) we spent Saturday evening in the ER with Wyatt getting his toe sewed back on. No, really, it wasn't that dramatic, but we did have to take him to get his little pinkie toe checked out, he ran it over with his closet door and it made a pretty nasty little cut. We did get to forgo the stitches, but it's still going to leave a nice little scar. This past weekend, we spent Saturday and Sunday worrying over Waylon as he had a high fever, throwing up on Saturday and just not being his normal self. He just layed around, didn't want to play, and was SOOOO quiet. We were sweating it there for a little while. It turns out that it was just a virus, and, thank the good Lord, he was all better by Monday.

With all that excitement, I thought that I had earned a little break. I had already planned to take this week off along with Jesse so he could hunt. Tania & I had planned a trip to a store that I had never heard of, but was excited to check out. OK, I don't know where I've been, but apparently, everyone else has not only heard of, but been to, and loves the........Hobby Lobby. Oh. My. Goodness. I could get in serious trouble in that place. Thank goodness that Tania & I had to be back at a certain time to pick up our kids, because I believe they'd have had to shoo us out as they were closing the doors tonight. There is SO MUCH STUFF!!!! We have vowed to go back one day when we have no kids to bring with us (although Wyatt was very well behaved in the almost hour & a half we were in there), & no time limits! I got a couple of little things for the boys and some stuff to decorate my truck for "Trunk or Treat" at our church at the end of this month. I'm not quite ready to disclose the theme of my trunk, but I will definitely post pictures of the event!

On the way back, we stopped at a little antique store. Back in May I went there with Mom & Tania & found this cool vintage bowl.

Imagine my delight as on my second visit I found my poor lonely bowl's best friends!!! I'm so excited to have the set of 3!!

I also picked up this adorable wooden train for the boys, which they fight horrendously over already, so I guess that means they love it, just as I knew they would!

We had such a great time! Isn't it amazing how much better you feel after a good time with your sister & a little retail therapy!!
Oh, I just found out this morning that they'll be doing the screening for Waylon's PT/OT tomorrow at school. Lots of prayers please, let's get this boy on track!!!
