Rodeo!!

This past week, Wyatt’s class did a unit learning about all things cowboy, and what better way to end the unit than by having a RODEO!!!

Mrs. H & Mrs. B made helped all the kids make a name & number for their backs, and also spurs for their boots.

There were all kinds of competitions that the kids had been practicing all week for.  My favorites were the steer roping…

…and barrel racing!!

Of course, everyone had to wait their turn to run those barrels!

I also got a kick out of the “saddle bronc riding!”  Amazingly, all the kids stayed on for the entire 8 seconds!

Even with all those events, Wyatt still made time for this little lady…

I think everyone had a great time.  I know that myself and everyone else who came out to watch did, and we were so proud of our cowboys & cowgirls!!

Say a Little Prayer…

See this…

DSCN4213

No, really.  Look a little closer…

DSCN4212

That little baby tooth that’s sticking out like crazy is caused by an extra tooth that the Good Lord has blessed us with, which is pushing that baby tooth right on out.  It’s also causing us to have oral surgery on the 20th of June.  (I say “us”, of course I mean “him.”  But since Jesse & I’ll be the ones with all the anxiety, I feel I have earned the right to be included!)  Waylon will have to be sedated, and thank the Lord his dentist office brings in a pediatric anesthesiologist with all of his monitors!!  The point to all of this airing of our dental business is that I’m calling on all of you prayer warriors and asking for prayers now and especially as the time gets closer.  Prayers for peace (for all of “us”) and no complications!

Spring Break 2011

What a Spring Break!!  We had so much fun!!  So much fun in fact, that I didn’t take hardly any pictures.  So sad…

I had to work Monday & Tuesday, but as soon as I could leave work Tuesday, we were loaded up and headed to Crystal River.  Tania’s in-laws were gracious enough to let myself, the boys & Nana come and stay at their condo for a couple of days.  We swam, and swam, and swam some more!!  We went bowling…

DSCN4174

This picture cracks me up.  The bowling alley had bumpers, but no ramps, so the ball went rreeealllyyy slow.  Waylon’s was sooo slow this time that the bar came down over the pins to whisk them away before his ball even made it down!!

DSCN4168

…then took a drive down to the beach.  Wyatt loved the beach, even though we weren’t prepared to go there.  We started out on a drive because I had 2 boys in desperate need of a nap and ended up on the beach.  Wyatt was awake at that point and got out to check things out, but Way slept through.

  Mr.. Cool in his aviators…

DSCN4178DSCN4179DSCN4180We got back home Thursday just in time to do some laundry, buy some groceries and get packed up again.  This time we were off to Otter Springs for some camping and a family reunion.  Nana & Popa rented a cabin and we took our camper down to spend the weekend.

I see many more camping trips in the future!  The boys loved it and the adults all had a pretty good time too. We swam in the pool, played in the springs & fished.  We had a campfire both nights and lots of food and fellowship with family.

Zoned out & staring at the fire after a very busy day!

Fishin’….

Wyatt got bored with the fishing and thought the mealworms were more fun…

DSCN4194

This camping trip was a trial run to see how we’d like it and how the boys would do.  Let’s just say I think we know what we’ll be doing this summer!!

Easter 2011

At some point, I will go back and do a catch up post in pictures, but for now, it’s all about Easter.

The boys both had Easter parties at school…

DSCN4111 He was so determined that even a shoe falling off didn’t slow him down!

We woke up early Easter morning and the boys checked out their Easter baskets…

DSCN4122 They were most excited about their new Leapster games, the new wallets, and harmonicas (which I may or may not be regretting the purchase of…)

DSCN4124 DSCN4125 DSCN4126After a beautiful church service consisting of an Easter Cantata & message, we headed back to Nana’s for lunch & more egg hunting.

DSCN4131 DSCN4133 DSCN4134 DSCN4139 DSCN4140 DSCN4147 DSCN4148 DSCN4149

And after all the festivities at Nana’s, we went to Nana Kaye’s to finish out the day.

DSCN4160

Wyatt was all too happy to keep hunting eggs, but Waylon was kind of over it.  What you don’t see in this picture is his basket sitting in the middle of the grass.  He’d get an armful of eggs then go dump them in the basket.

DSCN4156 That got old after a while, and I guess he was completely bored, so he had to find another form of entertainment.  I don’t think the rooster shared his enthusiasm!

DSCN4158Is this a cute crew or what?!  Wyatt, Leah & Waylon…I think I smell trouble in a few years!

DSCN4162We had a wonderful Easter holiday, and I hope whoever may read this did too.  The (many) egg hunts were fun, but not to be forgotten is the most important part…the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus.

Still Kickin'

So, I changed my background....that's about all I can handle today.  Hopefully more to come.  After a few months, we've built up some stories!  Can't wait to share...just not tonight. ;-)
