Sea World

I haven't posted lately due to a sick Wyatt, who has been stuck to me like glue, but who is now on the mend (hopefully).

We left last Thursday headed to Deltona to visit Jesse's mom with plans to go to Sea World on Friday then stay another night with Jesse's mom & come home Saturday. Don't you just love how everything always goes exactly according to plan?!?

We had a great time Thursday evening with Nanny & PaulPaul. Wyatt had started running a little fever, but we weren't gonna let a little 'ol fever stop us!! No way! So after an exhausting night (my kids either need to sleep away from home more or never go anywhere ever again!! They love their own beds and do not like to have to share with anyone!) we got up and went to Sea World first thing Friday morning.

As with Disney, I'm really glad we didn't have to pay for the boys to get in, because we surely didn't get our money's worth! Wyatt felt crappy, but for feeling so bad, he did enjoy himself somewhat. He loved the sharks, rays, and all the aquarium type things. He didn't really care about the dolphins or the whales, which really surprised me because that's all he had been talking about for a few days before. Waylon had been pretty excited to see the "big whale" but the whales didn't want to participate in the show, so while we were waiting for said whales to cooperate, Waylon fell asleep! He totally missed his big whales, but that's ok, because he really needed that nap!
Wyatt loved that ray tank!
Checking out the sharks

This is what Waylon was so focused on

Wyatt wasn't so sure about that monstrous whale!

Waylon kind of fed off of Wyatt's moodiness, but all in all did pretty well. He was actually tall enough to go on a couple of rides!! We rode one ride called "Ocean Commotion" that he laughed so hard through most of the ride. We also rode the little Shamu roller coaster. He was so excited to ride and did well until the first little drop, then he got a little scared, but at the end of the ride he was all smiles and so proud of himself! Hopefully he'll be my riding buddy when he gets older since Daddy doesn't like to ride! I'm tired of riding those roller coasters by myself!! Speaking of, I rode the Manta roller coaster and oh my goodness, it was great!! You're riding face down and it feels like you're flying. It was awesome. The only bad part was the guy riding next to me who kept saying, "This is fabulous, it's like I'm flying! This is fantastic!!" All that talking was a little obnoxious. Next time, sit me next to a screamer.

(Oh yeah, for inquiring minds who want to know, Waylon does have on 2 different shirts...during the Clyde & Seymour show, he got snack on his shirt and then proceeded to take his shirt off right then & there and ask for a new one. Crazy, I know.)
We ended up leaving the park at about 2:30, both the boys had had enough, and frankly, so had Jesse & I!

We had a nice dinner at his mom's house, then Wyatt spiked a pretty high fever, so we figured we'd head home to be close to a hospital we knew just in case we had to make a middle of the night ER trip!! Luckily it didn't come to that, and Wyatt was feeling a little better by Saturday morning. We definitely had a better night's sleep in our own beds!! Trying to sleep in the same bed with those 2 boys is not fun!! They do not make for very good bed fellows!
I wish I would've gotten more & better pictures of our trip, but Wyatt refused to be put down (yep, Daddy had a sore back for a little while); and Waylon was stuck to my side and wouldn't step away from me so I could take pictures of him! Story of our lives!

Overall we had a pretty good time, there were things at Sea World that we missed out on, but the boys will just have to wait a while to go back & do it again. We've set in stone the rule for our house: No more theme parks until our youngest is at least 6 years old!! (Please, someone remind me of this next time I get it in my head to start planning a trip!)

  1. Sorry that Wyatt was not feeling well on your trip. Love the pictures, especially the one with you and the boys with the fish swimming by. Looks as though Waylon had a good time. I'll be sure to remind you what you have set in stone when you start planning your next trip. ;) Hope my Wyatt starts feeling better soon, I am missing my playful boy. :(
